The air cap of our spray gun is removable, but the spray needle is not. When cleaning, you should gently brush it, ensuring to clean it thoroughly after each use.
The key adjustments to the spray gun involve the volume of air and the amount of paint output. If the air output is too small, the paint may not atomize properly, resulting in an uneven coating. The size of the paint output corresponds to the size of the air output. Before spraying, you should adjust the appropriate air output and the corresponding paint output, ensuring the paint can be atomized well and evenly applied to the surface.
Adjusting the spray gun involves two main considerations: listening to the sound of the airflow to gauge the size of the airflow, and visually inspecting the atomization of the paint at the gun's mouth and the size of the fan-shaped area.
Some important parameters to consider are: (1) air pressure, generally 30-50 psi; (2) spraying distance, 15-20 cm between the gun nozzle and the object; (3) overlap range, 1/2 to 1/3 of the previous pass (except for crackle paint); and (4) spraying angle, with the gun moved at a uniform speed of 20-30 cm/s, avoiding diagonal spraying.
After use, the spray gun should be cleaned by spraying thinner until the paint channel is clear, as dried paint can obstruct the normal operation of the gun. When scrubbing the gun, soft brushes should be used, and metal brushes or hard objects that could damage the nozzle and alter the spray pattern are prohibited. Avoid directly soaking the gun in solvent, as this can dissolve the lubricant. Instead, use a soft cloth dampened with solvent to wipe the gun. Regularly apply light grease or petroleum jelly to lubricate the needle valve and spring, avoiding silicone-containing oils.
